Man Who Died in East Haven House Fire Identified

East Haven Police report Federick V. Chappell perished during last Friday's early morning fire at Hemingway Avenue home.

The man who perished in the last Friday has been identified.

The victim has been named as Frederick V. Chappell Jr.

The 46-year-old man resided at the Hemingway Avenue residence, which authorities reportedly believe was serving as an illegal boarding house.

Accorrding to East Haven Police Depurty Chief John Mannion, postmortem finger prints were taken from Chappell at the time of his autopsy, and those cards were delivered to the State Police Bureau of Identification.

"They were able to match those prints to prints they already had on file for him," Mannion said.

He added that Chappell’s family has been notified.
