SWAT Team Called Following Alleged East Haven Assault

A SWAT team was called in Saturday to East Haven following a report of a woman allegedly being assaulted by her husband.

On Saturday, the South Central Regional SWAT team was sent to a home on Foxon Boulevard in East Haven after a women said she was assaulted by her husband the night before.

The New Haven Register reports that a woman came into the East Haven Police Department Friday evening and said she was assaulted by 52-year-old Nicola J. Difroscia  A SWAT team was sent to his home at 240 Foxon Boulevard early Saturday morning with police who had both search and arrest warrants, according to the Register.

Difroscia was taken into custody without incident as police recovered a BB gun and a knife at the home, according to the newspaper. He was later charged with criminal attempt of assault in the first degree, disorderly conduct, threatening in the first degree, kidnapping in the first degree with a firearm, reckless endangerment in the first degree and strangulation in the first degree.
