Police say 16-year-old Zachary Antonio has been found and is safe.

An amber alert issued Monday after a 16-year-old Oxford boy was reported missing has been called off.

The boy, Zachary Antonio, has since been found and is safe, police said.

Police have issued an amber alert for a 16-year-old Oxford boy named Zachary Antonio who was discovered missing around 6:30 a.m., according to the Oxford Resident Trooper's Office.

The missing teen was described as Zachary Antonio, 16, who left a note saying he was going somewhere to be more happy, according to WFSB, Channel 3.

Antonio is described as 5-feet, 8-inches tall and weighs 165 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Resident Trooper's Office at 203-888-4353. 

No picture of Atonio was released.
