Round 2: More Severe Weather Expected for East Haven Tonight

After storms rolled through town early this morning, meteorologists warn that more bad weather – including hail — could hit the area again later today.

It looks as though this morning's severe weather may have just been a warm up for Mother Nature's main event later today.

The National Weather Service is warning that storms developing later this afternoon — and especially tonight — "could produce small hail, gusty winds, heavy rain, and frequent lightning."

And that nasty, unsettled weather could be with us into the early part of the weekend.

The weather service has issued an hazardous weather alert that reports a slow-moving cold front is expected to sweep through the area on Friday afternoon and early Saturday, which could bring more "thunderstorms with very heavy rain and gusty winds."

There’s a high of 83 degrees expected today, with a low of 63 at night. Rainfall could reach a quarter of an inch.
