Traffic Safety Follow Up

So, vote for where you think the most dangerous stretches of roads are in town, and tell us why it's the worst of the worst in the comments.

Then, when we announce the results in our follow up piece next week, East Haven Patch will also speak to town and state officials about ways to improve traffic safety on local streets.

Bennett Road, they don't even stop for the stop signs just fly right through them,

I agree with Bennett - everyone cruises right through those stop signs. Even worse, though - Borrelli road between Thomson and Totoket. It's 75% blind corners with no shoulders and yet people go twice the speed limit with no regard for the hidden drives, horse riders, pedestrians, or occasional escaped cow. Just last night three kids managed to plant their car firmly in the woods on Borrelli.

That would be nice....in 15 years 2 of our vehicles have been TOTALLED being parked on the side of the road. We actually widened our driveway so we didn't have to keep a vehicle on the street or juggle around cars.

the worst s is the 4way stop on by the old high school . no one ever makes a full stop and always blows threw the sign . ive lived near there all my life , and i almost get hit there on a daily basis. its sad that the cops cant do their job because their afraid of getting in trouble . in the last year i think i seen one person pulled over . i easly see dozens of violations everyday in the center .

While speeding around town one cannot help but notice the median divider in front of Stop and Shop. A scenic credit to our town with its black topped center surrounded by huge dead weeds. Looks like a scene from that "After Man " series or down town Detroit. Can't somebody clean that up? And while we are at it the hand dryer in the Stop an Shop mens room still doesn't work worth a damn.
