The following is a press release submitted by the East Haven Police Department, which is posted in the gallery that accompanies this article.
On February 25, arrested Daisy Bruno, 23, of 93 Lalord Street in New Britian, and Laynette Del Hoyo, 21, of 17 Belden Street on Hamden.
At approximately 1:45 a.m., an officer observed a dispute at the front door of located at 679 Main Street. As he exited his vehicle an employee approached the officer and stated that there had been a fight inside the bar.
The owner of the bar was attempting to keep Bruno from re-entering the bar. The owner stated that Bruno had started a dispute in the bar. Bruno continued to attempt to enter the bar and was advised by police to leave.
When the officer went to escort Bruno away from the doorway she struck him in the face causing an injury to his nose. The officer was treated for his injury and was able to continue working.
Both Bruno and Del Hoyo had started a dispute inside of the bar when they were stealing drinks from other customers.
Bruno was placed under arrest for Interfering with Police, Assault on a Police Officer and Breach of Peace 2nd Degree. Bruno was placed on a $5,000 bond.
Del Hoyo was charged with Breach of Peace 2nd Degree and placed on a $2,500.00 bond. Both Bruno and Del Hoyo were released on bond and have a March 7 court date.
