Original story

Farmington police are looking for 15-year-old Karthik Saravanan, who disappeared from his home last night after leaving a note saying he was leaving due to family issues.

His parents called police after 8 a.m. this morning, saying they hadn't seen him since 10 p.m. the night before.

Police said Karthik is 5’7’ and 110 pounds. They don’t know what he is wearing but said he left home with his red sleeping bag on an orange bicycle.

Police are searching the Paul Springs area, a dead-end road off of Old Mountain Road. A search with Farmington Police K-9 Drak failed to find him and police brought in bloodhounds to try to locate him. Dogs have been searching the area for several hours.

If they are unable to locate Karthik, more information and a picture will be released. If you have any information, please call the police department at 860-675-2400.
