Police: East Haven Man Arrested for Sexually Assaulting 13-Year-Old Girl

And East Haven Police investigators believe there may be additional victims.

A 23-year-old East Haven man has been arrested by police for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl — and investigators believe there may be other victims.

Joseph Hutchinson was arrested on Feb. 16 and charged with first-degree sexual assault and risk of injury to a minor. 

"Family members of the victim reported that their 13-year-old daughter was sexually assault by Hutchinson the day prior to his arrest," East Haven Police Lt. David Emerman stated in a press release.

Officers secured an arrest warrant and located Hutchinson on Sunday and arrested him without incident, Emerman said.

In addition to the sexual assault investigation, at the time of his arrest Hutchinson also had three active arrest warrants for violation of probation. 

He was held on bonds totaling $275,000 and will be arraigned in court today, Feb. 18. 

'Additional Victims'

"Through officer’s investigations, it is believed that there may be possible additional victims," Emerman stated.
