Police: East Haven Parking Ban, Road Closures for Saturday March

East Haven Police will be enforcing a parking ban and temporarily closing several local roads to allow for Saturday's planned unity march and rally here.

The following is a press release submitted by the East Haven Police Department.

In order to provide a safe and orderly flow for all the participants in the upcoming march and rally this Saturday, Feb. 25, the shall be enforcing a parking ban on both sides of Main Street starting at 5 a.m. that morning.

The march is scheduled to start at noon in the area of and proceed east along Main Street to Margaret Tucker Park (Main and Thompson Ave.) where a rally will be held.

The parade should take approximately 45 minutes. The rally is expected to last approximately one hour. 

Main Street as well as intersecting side streets will not be closed down for vehicular traffic until just before the parade begins.

Once the parade moves off, that portion of Main Street and the impacted side streets will be temporarily shut down.

Once the marchers clear an intersection it will be immediately re-opened.

Also please be advised that portions of Main St., Kirkham Ave., Taylor Ave., and Messina Drive will be temporarily closed during the rally.
