NH Register: Fire The East Haven Police Union President

In an editorial written earlier this month, the New Haven Register wrote that East Haven Detective Robert Ranfone should be fired.

In a recent internal affairs investigation, Ranfone was found to have not to followed proper police procedures on several occasions.  The Register, saying the police force still needs to “sweep out (the) remaining corrupt cops,” pushed for Ranfone to lose his job for those actions.

“The town needs to send a clear, swift message that the culture of lawlessness in the Police Department is over,” the editorial read. “If it doesn’t, the federal government will have every reason to launch yet another probe of department corruption.”
