Nancy Pelosi to Tour East Haven Storm Damage

The House minority leader will be in town on East Haven.

When East Haven was devasted by the Tropical Storm Irene, government officials flocked to the area for press conferences.

With recovery still ongoing, the tours continue this Friday when House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi visits the area with some of her colleages. She will be joined by U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-3, and Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman in the Cosey Beach Avenue area.

According to a press release issued by DeLauro's office,  "[Federal Emergency Management Agency] and state emergency management officials will provide information and updates on the ongoing recovery efforts, the progress that has been made, and what to expect moving forward. Federal assistance is critical to long-term recovery efforts, and Congress will need to soon pass legislation to provide FEMA and affected states with the funding and assistance they need."

The briefing at the FEMA Disaster Assistance Center on 160 Cosey Beach Ave will be from 2:45-3:15 p.m. The tour will be from 3:15-4 p.m.

Earlier this months, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano with Gov. Dannel Malloy others.
