LETTER: 'You Are All My Best Friends'

East Haven Fire Department member Joseph Lauria and his family send in a letter of thanks to family and friends for taking part in the recent community fundraiser — and for being there for the firefighter during a difficult time.

To the Editor:

Henry Ford once said, “My best friend is the one who brings out the best in me."

I am extremely fortunate to have many best friends in my life. Best friends who are there for me time and time again.

I would likely to especially thank Joe Ciscone, Amy Derbacher, and the countless others for organizing this event that is greatly helping my family.

Words can not even begin to express how thankful I am.

While I continue to battle pancreatic cancer, I know each day that I am blessed and lucky to have such wonderful people in my life.

You are all my best friends and you have brought out the best in me, even through this difficult time of my life.

Thank you again for your generosity, donations, and prayers.
