Gas Main Leak Closes Portion of West Main Street in Branford

The leak has closed a portion of West Main Street in the area of Orchard Hill to the Branhaven Plaza, as gas company officials investigate.

Branford Patch Editor Nicole Ball is reporting from the scene that West Main Street "should be open in the next 15 minutes. Gas main leak secured according to sources. Still proceed with caution."

West Main Street is close to reopening as gas company crews finish up their work to resolve the leak issue, according to Branford Fire scanner reports.

A gas main leak has occured along West Main Street in Branford in the area of LoMonoco's Italian Restaurant. Branford Fire Chief Jack Ahern confirmed to Branford Patch that the gas main leak just after 10:30 a.m.

Gas company officials are now on the scene working to resolve the issue, according to scanner reports.

The leak has lead to the closure of a portion of the busy local state route, in the area of Orchard Hill Road down around to the Branhaven Plaza.
