A young East Haven woman was found beaten and murdered in New Haven over the weekend on Union Street in New Haven. The New Haven Police Department is investigating the city’s 24th murder this year but no arrests have been made yet.
According to the New Haven Register, Cassandra Mead, 22, suffered bipolar disorder and drug addiction, but her told the newspaper, “She had a big heart and did anything and everything for people.”
An autopsy revealed that Mead was strangled.
