East Haven Teen, 2 Adults Nabbed For Illegal Gun, Drug Paraphernalia

The three were arrested at Mill Street and Foxon Road.

A man, a teenager and a woman were arrested Tuesday just before midnight, after being stopped for blowing through a stop light and found to be illegally carrying a gun, according to Deputy Police Chief John Mannion.

Officer John Finnimore pulled over the car at Mill Street and Foxon Road. It was being driven by Anthony Calder of New Haven and occupied by Daniel Quoka, of 967 North High St., East Haven, and Stacy Petrovich of Stratford. East Haven police had word that Calder might have a handgun; Officer Justin Bochu came to assist.

Finnimore and Bochu found an unloaded Smith & Wesson Model 500 magnum handgun and drug paraphernalia inside the car. It was later ascertained the gun was stolen.

Calder, 25, Quoka, 18, and Petrovich, 25, were arrested and charged with theft of a firearm, weapons in a motor vehicle, carrying a pistol without a permit and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Additionally, Quoka was charged with criminal possession of a firearm and criminal violation of a protective order. And Calder was also charged with criminal possession of a firearm, driving a car with a suspended license and failing to obey a traffic signal.

Quoka and Calder were each held on a $250,000 bond. Petrovich was released on a $50,000 bond.
