East Haven Police: Teens Arrested for Making Threats Against Other Students

Two teenagers have been arrested after they allegedly threatened to harm students at Pathways Regional School via posts on a social media website, according to East Haven Police.

The following is a press release from the East Haven Police Department.

On January 7, 2013, two male juveniles, ages 16 and 17, were arrested in regards to threats that they allegedly posted on a social media website.

The juveniles allegedly threatened to harm students at Pathways Regional School, 1 Maple Street, East Haven.

The juveniles were former students and were not at the school when the complaint was made to police.

School authorities were notified and were apprised of the situation.

Additional precautions were taken to provide protection for the school involved. At no time were any students in harm’s way.

Police secured arrest warrants for both juveniles and both were arrested and were taken into custody without incident.

Both juvenile were charged with Breach of Peace in the Second Degree, Threatening in the Second Degree, and Intimidation Based on Bigotry or Bias in the Second Degree.

Both juveniles were remanded to the juvenile detention facility in Bridgeport, CT.
