East Haven Police Seek Purse Snatching Suspect

An elderly woman was the victim an early morning purse snatching Wednesday at the Dunkin Donuts on Main Street, according to East Haven Police.

East Haven Police are investigating an alleged purse snatching that occurred to an elderly woman at a busy Main Street coffee shop early Wednesday morning.

According to East Haven Police Sgt. David Emerman, at about 6:27 a.m. Tuesday, officers responded to the Dunkin Donuts at 320 Main Street for a reported purse snatching.

"The complainant, a woman in her 70’s, reported that upon exiting her vehicle in the parking lot, a white male near her vehicle briefly spoke to her, then approached her and grabbed her purse out of her hand and began running south on Taylor Avenue," Emerman stated.

The suspected is described as male, about 6 feet tall, who was wearing a ball cap and blue jeans at the time the incident occurred.

"Officers recovered a shirt and ball cap on a nearby street, believed to be connected to this incident," Emerman stated.

He added that, at this time, the department "is investigating several leads."

Investigators are asking any one who may have additional information about the incident to contact East Haven Police Department at 203-468-3820.

Now Lance, you know very well this detail can not be told. It will cause a profiling of that certain race.

Lord knows we don't need anymore alleged profiling

Hey Lance, the NHR is reporting the perp is "caucasian". Not white, can't use that phrase I guess. So now the EHPD can stop every caucasion male, 6 feet tall, and that wouldn't be profiling. Lance, how tall are you? LOL
