East Haven Police Investigating Dodge Avenue Break In

Although details are few at this time, East Haven Police are investigating a break in that occurred along Dodge Avenue here in town Tuesday.

East Haven Patch first learned of the alleged burglary via a reader's post on the boards earlier this afternoon.

Lt. David Emerman, the police department's public information officer, then confirmed for Patch late this afternoon that an incident did occur at about 10:20 p.m. that night — and is now under investigation

"It appears that the resident interrupted the burglary," Emerman wrote in an email to East Haven Patch. "It is unclear about what items were taken."

Emerman added that no other information is available at this time. He added, however, that more details should released as the investigation moves forward.

East Haven Patch will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.

[Editor's Note: Due to a miscommunication with police, East Haven Patch incorrectly reported that the incident occurred on Thursday. It did, in fact, occur on Tuesday. The post was edited Friday at 3 p.m. to reflect the correct information.]
