East Haven Man Facing Drug Charges

Marijuana and mescaline are allegedly found in the suspect's car.

A recent motor vehicle stop resulted in a drug arrest for an East Haven man.

A Hamden police officer stopped a car on Woodin Street in that town at about 11:45 p.m. Aug. 4 after the officer noticed a violation take place nearby on Fairview Avenue, according to police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith. 

Officers searched the vehicle and found four bags of marijuana totaling 30 grams, 20 grams of mescaline, 49 empty pill capsules and $655 in cash, Smith said.

The driver, Sean Ricci, 21, of East Haven, was charged with possession of a hallucinogen, possession of a hallucinogen with the intent to sell, possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and failure to use a turn signal.

Ricci posted $2,500 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court Aug. 19.
