East Haven Man Charged With Interfering With Death Investigation

East Haven's Brian Ring has been charged with tampering with evidence and interfering with police, along with other charges, after a man he was with was found dead in a New Haven restaurant.

An East Haven man has been charged with tampering with evidence and interfering with police after a man he was with was found dead in the bathroom of a New Haven restaurant.

On Friday, police found the body of 39-year-old Robert Litz of New Haven in the bathroom of New Haven's Modern Apizza restaurant, according to the New Haven Register. Litz is suspected of dying from a heroin overdose.

Later, police arrested Brian Ring of Tyler Street, East Haven, after he allegedly took a syringe, heroin and Litz's wallet from the bathroom Litz died in, according to the newspaper. Ring was charged with tampering with evidence, possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics within 1,500 feet of a school, interfering with police and possession of drug paraphernalia.
