Hamden Police arrested an East Haven man Friday in connection with a burglary that happened last summer.

On July 29, 2012, police got a report of a burglary at a Valley View Court residence, where someone had forcibly entered the home through a ground level basement window, police spokesman Capt. Ronald Smith said. About $6,500 worth of jewelry was taken in the burglary, he said.

Dets. John Inglese and Donald Remillard investigated the incident and applied for an arrest warrant for Robert DiRienzo, 21, of 168 Borriman Road, East Haven, Smith said.

On Friday, Hamden Police arrested DiRienzo at Meriden Superior Court, Smith said.
He was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree larceny and held in lieu of $20,000 bond.
