East Haven firefighters were able to quickly contain and knock down a Short Beach Road blaze Thursday evening, which threatened to engulf an entire building of homes within the local condominium complex.
The fire — which was first reported to the East Haven Fire Department just after 7 p.m. on Thursday — occured at the Ledgeview Condominium complex at 330 Short Beach Road.
The fire apparently began in unit H-14, according to residents sharing their information on East Haven Patch's Facebook page.
Although no one was injured during the incident, readers noted on the EHP Facebook page that those living in the homes — including a mother expecting a child in some three weeks — were displaced by the fire.
EHFD Assistant Chief Chuck Licata told East Haven Patch at the scene that there were no injuries during the incident. He added that at that time it was unknown what caused the blaze.
East Haven Patch will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available. Additionally video and pictures will also be posted later this evening.
