East Haven Firefighters Battle I-95 Truck Fire

The East Have Fire Department extinguished a fire that broke out on a cargo truck traveling along Interstate 95 Sunday afternoon.

Members of the East Haven Fire Department capped off a busy weekend by extinquishing a large fire that broke out on a cargo truck that was along Interstate 95 north Sunday.

The incident, which was first reported at 4:12 p.m. according to an EHFD alert, occured just off of Exit 52.

East Haven firefighters arrived at the scene to find the tractor trailer fully inflamed. The department was eventually able to bring the blaze under control in about 15 minutes or so.

On Friday, the department was at the Neubig Dairy property.

And the EHFD also took part in the Long Island Sound boater, which was eventually called off after no sign of distress or debris was found.
