[UPDATED] East Haven Wells Fargo Bank Robbed

The Wells Fargo Bank along Hemingway Avenue was robbed a short time ago. The suspect reportedly fled with an unknown amount of cash.

Update at 4:05 p.m.

The following is a press release from the East Haven Police Department.

At approximately 2:40 p.m. on November 28, 2012, East Haven Police Department responded to the Wells Fargo Bank, 339 Hemingway Avenue, East Haven, for a reported armed robbery. 

Bank employees reported that two males, one armed with a handgun, entered the bank demanding money, and fled on foot towards Walgreen Pharmacy with an unknown amount of cash. 

East Haven Police Detectives and Officers responded. The incident remains under investigation. 

Additional details will follow as they become available.

Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to contact East Haven Police Department at 203-468-3820.

The Wells Fargo bank at 399 Hemingway Avenue in downtown East Haven has been robbed this afternoon, East Haven Police have confirmed for Patch.

Police are looking for a black male suspect who fled toward Main Street with an unknown amount of cash, according to scanner reports.

East Haven Patch will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.
