Suspects Steal a Ton of Copper

It’s hard to find good help nowadays, especially when that person from a former employer. Two men reportedly stole 2,633 pounds of the metal. This marks a rising trend in Branford.

“Thefts of wire and precious metals are on the increase,” said Capt.  Geoffrey Morgan. There was a of a local artist’s copper sculpture.

Airplane Part Crashes in Woodbridge Yard

A Woodbridge resident called the police after finding a plane propeller on their yard. Police were baffled and called the Federal Aviation Administration to determine what happened. As it turns out, a plane heading to Tweed Airport last week lost a propeller while flying. The plane landing safely, and the mystery of the propeller was solved.

Woman Charged with Stabbing Own Dog

An East Haven woman was shocked after her dog, a Boxer named Bailey, was stabbed. Now East Haven police .

The woman initially accused her ex-boyfriend of the deed, saying the knife belonged to him and that she saw his car driving away in the area. Police say there  are suspicious inconsistencies in the story, like the fact no blood was found in the area where she says the dog was stabbed.

The woman maintains her innocence. "My dog is my four-legged kid," she told Patch.

Police: Stripper Robbed, Attacked by Customer

An exotic dancer from Rumours Café in Stratford got a ride home from a customer, but .

According to reports and the woman's account, they parked at an unlit driveway at the Cumberland Farms, but the encounter ended with an argument, in which the woman said the man grabbed her purse and drove off. She was treated for minor injuries.

Police reported locating a man in an SUV that allegedly matched the description of the robbery suspect, but the woman did not identify him as the robber. The man allegedly told police he had been at Rumours earlier and the woman had tried to get him to go to another strip joint, reports said.
