Patch's Poll: Will You Buy the iPhone 5?

Word is that Apple's latest will be available on Sept. 21.

Ever since Siri burst on the scene in 2011 and started giving people advice about where to bury dead bodies, Apple afficionados have been waiting to see what will come next from the iconic smart phone.

The rumors were put to rest at a 1 p.m. Apple press conference today when the lighter, thinner iPhone 5 was unveiled to the world.

According to CNN, the new device has a four-inch retina display screen that allows for five rows of apps. The iPhone 4 has a 3.5-inch screen that shows only four rows of apps. The phone has an improved camera and three speakers, and Facetime will be in HD.

The company's new "A6" chip means that the iPhone 5 can be twice as fast as its predecessor, CNN reported. It also has 4G LTE connectivity, which is compatible with the Verizon, AT&T and Sprint networks.

Do you have to have it? Will you wait in line at the Apple store in a sleeping bag before the launch, or do you scoff at the price and think the slavish devotion to Apple products is totally misplaced?

Take our poll and tell us what you think in the comments.
