Forget What They Say - It Will Happen

Members of Congress are again talking about immigration reform but we all know nothing will happen anytime soon for it's far to close to the mid-term elections.  But both sides of the isle have repeatedly said when something is passed it will not involve any "amnesty" type programs.   YA, right.  Let's look at the past Congressional history involving illegals and amnesty.

In 1986 President Reagan signed the Immigration & Reform Act which was being pushed as the greatest thing since sliced bread. This law called for blanket amnesty for the 2.5 million illegals believed to be in the country at that time, to secure the border, make it illegal to hire illegals and allowed for a direct path to citizenship.  How'd that work out?  It didn't.  Now there is over 12 million illegals in the country, the border was never secured and illegals are still hired.  I'm sorry, I understand the politically correct term to use now is undocumented workers.  If I up-set you liberals by calling them what they actually are, well too bad.

In 1994 Congress changed Section 245(i) of the US Immigration laws, calling for a temporary rolling amnesty for approx. 578,000 illegals.

Congress made another change to Section 245(i) in 1997 called the "Extension Amnesty Act", extending the changes made in 1994.

Then in 1997 Congress passed the "Nicaraguan Adjustment & Central American Relief Act" allowing amnesty for over 1 million illegals from Central America.

Let's not forget the 'Haitian Immigration Fairness Act" of 1998 allowing for amnesty for some 125,000 illegals from Haiti.

This is a good one.  Called the 'Late Amnesty Act" passed in 2000.  This act amended the original 1986 law aimed at another 400,000 illegals.

Finally we have the 'Life Act Amnesty" bill also passed in 2000, which reinstated the rolling 245(i) law changes made in 1994 & 1997, earmarked to another 900,000 illegals.

So don't think for one minute amnesty will not happen for Congress has been doing it all along.  There is a great article in the Washington Post dated 01/30/2013, written by Rachel Weiner, called "How Immigration Reform Failed, Over and Over".  Makes for good reader, look it up.

The I.R.A. of 1986 didn't work then and nothing passed now will work either.  The border will never be secured and the hordes of illegals will continue to flood the streets of our cities sucking up tax dollars.  God forbid this ogernment tries to control this onslaught.

Folks, this is all about gaining future democratic voters and the assurance of continued liberal democratic control of the federal government for years to come and don't you ever forget it.  To make this even more interesting, last April 10th, Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) came right out and said the  "GOP's stall tactics is all about race and if these people were from Ireland they wouldn't care".  Maybe someone should tell the leading liberal from CA that the people flooding her state and sucking up CA tax dollars are not coming from Ireland or any other European country and that she needs to look south not east.

Then there is Harry Reid (D) NV, who favors an open door border policy.  Remember that game show phrase "Come on Down", well Reid would be yelling "Come on Up'.

Let's not forget Rosa, who voted no to support HR-6061, a bill designed to help further secure the border.

Because of inaction by this government, and that goes to both parties, we have lost control of the southern border and it will never be truly secured.  When the word spreads of pending passage of immigration legislation tens of thousends will storm acorss the border with their hands held out seeking government assisteance and it will break the back of the American middle class tax payer that has to foot the bill.

God forbit we hurt the feelings of the Mexican government by actually securing are own border.  But have no fear, the liberals in DC, Yale and the likes of Manship will be jumping for joy.
