Enough of Gene Ruocco's nonsense

I was mildly amused this am to read a letter to the editor in the rag paper which is produced in New Haven. This letter was from the DTC Chairman Gene Ruocco. In his letter he attacked Mayoral Candidate Gary DePalma. He refers to Mr. DePalma's negative campaigning, but fails to site one instance of Mr. DePalma saying or doing anything negative. He refers to Mr. DePalma as Sgt. DePalma. For those that don't know he is RETIRED Sgt. DePalma EHPD. Ruocco attempts to tie Mr. DePalma to the DOJ investigation saying he worked under Chief Gallo. Mr. DePalma was NEVER mentioned in the DOJ documents. Should we tie retired Inspector Nappe (Acting Chief under Mayor Capone) to the DOJ investigation?? After all he worked under Chief Gallo. How about retired Officer Nick Palladino?? He is on Mr. Ruocco's slate. That should show how ridiculous and insulting Ruocco's comments are to the fine men and woman whom have served our police department honorably as Mr. DePalma has. Mr. DePalma's personnel file was released and reported on. If I remember correctly over his 26 year career he was reprimanded once by Chief Pascarella years ago when the Chief saw him at a scene not wearing his hat. Talk about negative campaigning!!! Mr. DePalma served HIS town honorably for 26 years. Ruocco goes on to state that Jack Stacey has said nothing negative. I haven't heard Jack say ANYTHING. Where was Jack's outrage when one candidate on HIS slate posted racist comments on her facebook page. Where was Jack this week when another candidate on HIS slate was outed for posting sexual gross and degrading comments to women here on patch?? Mr. Ruocco says he could never support Mr. DePalma because he donated $25. to Mayor Maturo in 2011. Well guess what Mr. Ruocco the voters of East Haven did not replace a progressive administration, oh wait they were progressive in our tax rate 17% increase. Not to mention the millions we will pay due to the DOJ. It is a Mayor's or any citizen's moral obligation to cooperate with a federal investigation. It is another thing to FACILITATE the investigation. Where is this progressive mayor now?? Oh that's right she moved out of town soon after her defeat. Mr. Ruocco you remind me of that one kid we all knew as children. You know the one with the ball who would take his ball and go home if he couldn't play shortstop and bat first. Guess what Mr. Ruocco Gary DePalma is the one who got smart and went out and got his own ball he doesn't need yours. Sorry to say Gene but Mr. Stacey is un-electable. If he struggled with his own personal finances and was deep into a forclosure before recently making a deal with GMAC mortgage how can the citizens of East Haven possibly trust him to oversee our nearly 90 million dollar budget?.
Jack is a nice man, but the wrong candidate at this time. Mr. Ruocco mentions people from out of town working on Mr. DePalma's campaign. So what. Mr. Ruocco where is that nice young lady from that you are paying to be your campaign manager?? New Haven I believe. I urge every registered democrat in East Haven to get out and vote for the DePalma slate (row B) on September 10. This is the democrats best chance to not only take back town hall in November, but to rid the party of Mr. Ruocco's leadership.
