American Lung Association Fight for Air Climb in New Haven

Early bird discount expires in September. All funds benefit the American Lung Association of the Northeast.

On February 8, 300 expected climbers will take to the stairs of 360 State Street, New Haven’s greenest building. Last year, 200 raced up 413 stairs to the building’s 32nd  floor to raise money to benefit the American Lung Association of the Northeast. The event hopes to raise $50,000 in 2013.

“We are excited to return to New Haven’s greenest building this year,” said Jeff Seyler, President & CEO of the American Lung Association of the Northeast. “360 State Street continues to be a great partner in the Fight for Air. The funds raised at the Fight for Air Climb are vital to the work we are doing to combat lung disease and air pollution.”

The American Lung Association is committed to combatting all lung disease including lung cancer, COPD, and asthma. In Connecticut alone, more than 252,000 adults and another 91,000 children suffer from asthma. All funds raised support the organization’s mission to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.

The fastest team will walk away with the Fastest Firefighting Team trophy. This coveted award has gone to Stamford Fire Local 786 for the last three years. Fire departments throughout the region are encouraged to step up to the challenge.
