Lillian Alberino

Lillian Alberino, 87, of West Haven passed away Thursday October 6, 2011 at Talmadge Park in East Haven.

She was the wife of the late Thomas L. Alberino. Mother of Julia Alberino of NY, Dominick (Susan Stackpole) Alberino of Branford, Michael (MaryEllen) Alberino of East Haven, Barbara (Eddie) Brown of West Haven, Mary (Ralph) Grillo of East Haven and Ann (Frank) Joslin of FL. Grandmother of Rebecca, Dominick (Christen), Joan and Jason (Tina) Alberino, Jeffrey and Samantha Brown, Thomas, Joseph and Michael Grillo. Great Grandmother of Alyson Alberino and Adrianna Harvey. Sister of Honey Vessichio and the late William, Robert, Edwin, Jerome and Louis Landino, Elizabeth (Babs) DeNegre, Grace Ferguson and Julia Bernacchia.

She was born in New Haven, daughter of the late Louis and Julia Landino. She was a graduate of Hillhouse High School and after completing business school worked for New Haven Painting and Decorating Company. She was a CCD teacher for the Church of St. Louis, Brownie and Girl Scout Leader in West Haven and was a volunteer library helper for the West Haven Library. She was a member of DAV Ladies Auxiliary. She also worked for the Southern Connecticut Gas Company Credit Union until her retirement in 1989.

The hours for visitation will be Sunday from 4 to 8pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home Monday morning at 9:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in the Church of St. Louis at 10:00. Interment will follow in Beaverdale Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 2080 Silas Deane Highway, 2nd Floor, Rocky Hill, CT. 06067.

William L. Meyerholz

William L. Meyerholz (retired NHFD), 82, husband of Lillian Thompson Meyerholz of East Haven passed away October 6, 2011 at his home.

Father of William M. (Jennifer) Meyerholz, Michael E. (Lisa) Meyerholz, Debbie (John) Smith and Mark (Maria) Meyerholz. Son of the late William F. and Lillian Baker Meyerholz. Brother of Alice Dievert, Robert Meyerholz and the late Thomas Meyerholz. Also survived by 10 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and his beloved pet Rosie.

Prior to his retirement Bill was a firefighter with the New Haven Fire Department for 25 years and also worked for Marlin Firearms.

His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte 80) East Haven Monday morning at 9:00. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 9:30. Interment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.
