Lillian Moriarty Pyne

Lillian Moriarty Pyne, 85, of East Haven passed away Oct. 15, 2011 in the Hospital of St. Raphael.

Wife of the late Michael T. Pyne. Mother of Michael F. (Marilyn) Pyne of North Haven, Kathleen Pyne of Northford and James Pyne of East Haven. Grandmother of Caitlin Pyne. Daughter of the late Michael and Catherine Russell Moriarty. Sister of Kathleen McKeon of W. Springfield, MA and the late Mary Hogan and Thomas Moriarty.

Prior to her retirement Lillian worked for Turbine Components for 17 years.

Her funeral procession left the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd., East Haven Wednesday morning at 9:00. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 9:30. Interment followed in All Saints Cemetery. Friends may call TUESDAY from 5:00-8:00 PM.

Morton (Mike) H. Goodwin

Morton (Mike) H. Goodwin of Branford, devoted husband of the late Catherine F. Cleary, died Friday Oct. 7, 2011.

He was born on Feb. 15, 1919, in East Haven, son of the late Ray Edson and Clara H. Goodwin. He was the owner of M. H. Goodwin Electrical Contracting in Branford for over 45 years prior to retirement. During WWII, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy and bravely fought in the battle of Iwo Jima with the 5th Marine Division. He was a communicant of St. Mary Church in Branford, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Eldorado Council 10, for many years.

He so enjoyed golfing with his buddies, and was a passionate lover of all sports. He was a devoted fan and lifelong follower of the Boston Red Sox and NY Giants, and especially loved watching both UCONN Huskies basketball teams. He was a wonderful family man with a gentle soul who will be dearly missed.

Morton is survived by two daughters, Linda (Joseph) Morgan of Branford and Janice (John) Lane of AZ, two granddaughters; Audra Richitelli of CT, Lindsay (Rodney) Walker of AZ; a grandson Andrew Lane of UT, and two great-grandsons; Carson and Holden Walker. He is also survived by two nieces and three nephews. He was predeceased by his sister, Marilyn Goodwin Chieppo, and a granddaughter, Marlaina Lee.

A special thanks to the staff at Twin Maples for all their endless love and care of "Morty."

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Mary Church, Branford, Friday at 10 am. Burial will be private. Friends called Thursday from 6 to 8 pm at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main St., Branford.

In lieu for flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Cancer Society, 825 Brook St., Rocky Hill, CT, 06067 or St. Mary Church, 731 Main St, Branford, 06405.

Robert Muise

Robert Muise, age 50, of West Haven passed away suddenly at his home on Saturday Oct. 8, 2011.

Survived by his loving wife of 15 years Wendy Lee Emerson Muise, stepdaughter Tynne Clifford, his brother John Muise of Wallingford, sister Kathy Cleveland and her husband Ken of Milford, nephews Brian Cleveland and his wife Amanda of East Haven, Tim Cleveland of Milford and his two great nephews Parker and Camron.

Bob was employed by Hubbell Corporation in Shelton for over 20 years. He was a member of the Tuesday Night Bowling League at Milford Lanes for many years. There was no bigger fan than Bob of the Sacred Heart University Men and Women’s Basketball Teams. Bob was a D.J. for both the University of New Haven and Fairfield University and promoted local bands.

The hours for visitation were Wednesday from 6 to 8pm at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Interment was private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1 Union Street, Suite 301, Robbinsville, NJ 08691.
