Philip P. Zimbardi: World War II Veteran

Philip P. Zimbardi, 92, of East Haven, died on Sunday, May 11, 2014, at CT Hospice.

He was the husband of the late Carmelina Longofono Zimbardi.

He was born in Dupont, PA on September 13, 1921, to the late Antonio and Mary Basilicato Zimbardi. He worked for Geiring Metal Finishing for 35 years as an Electroplater until his retirement in 1985.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving his country in WWII.

 He is survived by a son, Philip A. Zimbardi of Guilford; a daughter and her husband, Geraldine and Roland Pepin of East Haven; and five grandchildren, Philip and Sheri Zimbardi and Kara, Walter and Eric Nuremberg.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Clement, Albert and Pasquale Zimbardi; and a sister, Ida Scepanski.

Friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Friday morning at St. Clare Church at 11 o’clock. Burial to follow in All Saints Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
