Mary Alberta Guidone: Registered Nurse, East Haven Resident

Mary Alberta Guidone, 86, of East Haven, died on Monday, May 12, 2014, at the St. Raphael Campus of Yale–New Haven Hospital.

Mary was born in New Haven on February 20, 1928, to the late Harold C. and Veronica Miller Crampton.

She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School and then went on to receive a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing at the University of St. Joseph, West Hartford, CT.

She worked as a registered nurse for several area health care facilities for many years until her retirement.

She is survived by seven children: Alberta M. (Prokopis) Papastratis of East Haven, Thomas R. (Roseann) Guidone Jr. of Hamden, Kathleen Bagnasco of Madison, Bernadette M. (Martin Packham) Haley of West Sussex, England, Gregory J. (Frances) Guidone of Madison, Monica L. (Vincent) Buonocore of East Haven and Alicia R. (Stephen Granata) Guidone, DPM, of Guilford; a sister, Jane Irving of Rennselaer, NY; and ten grandchildren: Alexander R. Papastratis, Nicole and Derek Perigard, Nicholas A. Jr. and Brian J. Bagnasco, Gareth and Stephanie Haley, Elizabeth and Sarah Guidone, Vincent Jr. (Lisa) and Marissa Buonocore and Cassandra Granata; and one great-grandson: Kyle Fennelly. She was also pre-deceased by a brother, Richard Crampton.

A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday morning at 10 am at St. Clare Church. Interment of Ashes will follow in East Lawn Cemetery.

There will be no calling hours. The EAST HAVEN MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 425 Main St., is in charge of arrangements.
