Another warm day has bought amazing weather to CT. East Haven hit 70º for the first time this year. East Haven Center reached a temperature of 71º and Momauguin Beach topped out at 67º... There was not much of a temp difference today, as there was the other day. Why is this? The answer is wind direction. With the northerly winds the warm air supplying inland towns like North Haven, Hamden, North Branford, etc... was pushed down to the beach. For there to be big temp differences the wind has to come out of the south, pulling cooler air in from over the ocean. In fact, East Haven may have been one of the warmest, if not the warmest today!
