EHHS CNA Students Finish Clinical Rotation at Yale New Haven Hospital- SRC

Students in the Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) course at EHHS are one step closer to state certification.  They recently finished a 24 hour clinical practicum at Yale New Haven Hospital- Saint Raphael Campus.
The students have been learning in the classroom and in the supervised clinical setting and will soon be finished with the course work required by the Connecticut Departments of Education and Public Health.  At that time, their knowledge and skills will be evaluated by a State Nurse Examiner during the state certification exam, a 2-part test consisting of a written test and a skills test.  Upon passing these tests, the students will be listed on the state registry as Certified Nurse Assistants.
High school teacher Nancy Tipping, RN, teaches the students in the medical lab at the high school and also supervises them as they complete their patient care duties at the clinical worksites (Talmadge Park and Yale NHH).
