This Weekend: Pet Adoption Event

Bring home a new friend at this event sponsored by The Friends of the New Haven Animal Shelter and the North Shore Animal League

 will host the event, which is sponsored by The Friends of the New Haven Animal Shelter and the North Shore Animal League.

The adoption event will run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 7. 

According to the event flyer, here's what you'll need to bring:

  • Adoption fee is $80 for cats and dogs, and the fee includes spay and neuter--cash only
  • Proof of homeownership--if you're renting, be sure to bring the phone number of your landlord
  • You're welcome to bring along your pets to make sure a new member of the family will fit in nicely

And if you're a pet lover but just not ready to make the committment, volunteers are always needed! 

The Find a Friend for Life website says that interested volunteers can attend the Friends' monthly meetings. They're held on the second Wednesday of the month at the District 10 Police Substation, located at the corner of Norton St. and Whalley Ave. in New Haven.
