Pilot's Brother Thanks the East Haven Community for Their Kindness

Blair Henningsgaard, who lost his younger brother Bill and nephew Max in the August 9 plane crash, sends his thanks to the community for their compassion and assistance during the tragedy.

In a personal letter to Patch, Blair Henningsgaard of Astoria, Oregon, the brother of pilot Bill Henningsgaard, wishes to thank the East Haven community for their kindness and concern. Blair Henningsgaard told Patch that Bill was his younger brother and Max his youngest nephew and the youngest child of Bill and his wife Susan Sullivan.

The Henningsgaard family would like to express gratitude to the citizens of East Haven for their kindness and concern following the tragic events of August 9.

In particular we thank Mayor Maturo, the East Haven Police Department, Deputy Chief Manion, Fire Chief Jackson, the East Haven Fire Department and all firefighters who responded to the scene.  These are true professionals of whom the citizens of East Haven can be proud.

We live on the West Coast but our hearts will be forever buried in the charred ground of 64 Charter Oak Avenue where four beautiful people lost their lives far too soon.
