Door-to-door she went knocking, begging people to go, and we heeded her warning, and rightfully so.

The wind, how it howled! The sea, how she roared! Reducing our homes to piles of mere boards.
The day after the storm, when we looked all around, we saw dozens of cottages knocked to the ground.
We cried and we mourned our beloved Cosey Beach, but, alas, do not worry, help’s within reach!
They came by the dozens - the National Guard - they cleared the debris, working steady and hard.
The Red Cross was there, and FEMA was too, helping all of the people with all they went through.
And let’s not forget our police and our fire, who worked hard through the week - not once did they tire!
Insurance adjusters out walking the block, talking to owners, who still were in shock.
Bless all volunteers, as they came to help too, doing whatever was needed to do.
They set up a tent with water and food, to nourish the people and lift up the mood.
And rebuild we will! Cosey Beachers are tough! Been through it before, tempests and stuff.
But since ‘38, it’s the worst storm we’ve seen. So I’m glad that it’s over - Goodnight, Irene.
God Bless Cosey Beach
