Dogs Looking for Homes in East Haven!

Dogs needing homes in East Haven!

Summer is a rough time for most shelters — many people are vacationing and not really looking for a new family member, so shelters tend to get very full.

Unfortunately the East Haven Shelter is experiencing this right now, and we would love to find homes for our dogs, some of which have been here for a while now.

Hallie - Hallie is a great dog, she is a 3 year old Basenji mix, and she loves other dogs.  She had been adopted out but she doesn't like cats so she is back with us now.  She would love a home where she has another to run around and play with!

Queenie - She is a joyous, happy girl, and loves to play. Queenie loves other dogs, and if she's by herself she will throw the toys up in the air and catch them.  She's a good walker and LOVES being in the pool — she will put her whole face under water!

Marley - This big guy is a 6 year old lab/pit mix, and he is a love. He's a strong boy so we would recommend a home with older kids, but Marley loves everyone he meets, and will usually roll over so you can scratch his belly for him. He also loves chew toys which will keep him entertained for hours!

Bonnie - Sweet Bonnie came in as a stray, we are guessing she is a 6-7 year old chocolate lab mix. She is very sweet, walks well on a leash, and really loves attention from people. She deserves a good home where she can be a couch potato.

Penelope - Penelope also came in as a stray, and was very scared at first, but has really come out of her shell. We are guessing she's about a year old, she seems very young. Penny doesn't seem to like female dogs much, but seems ok with the boys. She likes to play and will stand in the pool on hot summer days.  She has one blue eye and one brown eye and is very sweet.

Quentin - Poor scared out his mind!  He is a great boy, friendly but reserved at first, but once he knows you he's your best buddy.  Quentin enjoys playing with other dogs and would do really well with another canine buddy.

Ocho - This boy is a great big doofus of a dog - very friendly and sweet, and so far seems to like other dogs.  He loves to get out of his kennel and go for walks.  He's pretty new here so we are still learning more about him.  Ocho is a very well behaved boy too!

We are pretty full right now at the shelter and would encourage everyone to stop by and visit our dogs.  We really have some wonderful dogs and hope to find them homes soon!
