50th Anniversary of the CT Irish Festival

June 23rd and 24th mark the 50th Anniversary of the CT Irish Festival. Information on the festival can be found at http://ctirishfestival.com/ as well as these postings.

The 50th Anniversary of the CT Irish Festival, arguably the longest running such event in the country, is quickly approaching. This year’s Festival will be June 23rd and 24th.

For two days the North Haven Fairground becomes a wee bit of Ireland featuring the best in Irish music, dance, athletics and cultural activities.  It is a family friendly event with a free Irish magic show and complimentary professional face painting among the attractions.

New this year is an exhibition Gaelic Football game between FDNY and NYPD and a “Battle of the Bravest” Tug of War for bragging rights among area Fire Departments.

Entry fees for the Tug of War will be donated to the Leary Firefighter Foundation founded by Dennis Leary when his cousin and a childhood friend perished in the Worcester cold storage fire.

There will be food and drink offerings for all ages and appetites.  Follow us at http://www.ctirishfestival.com and on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/pages/CT-Irish-Festival/181027135276724.
