Holocaust Survivor Requests Young Audience for East Haven Talk

Holocaust survivor Anita Schorr requests young people hear her inspirational message at an upcoming talk at the Hagaman Memorial Library.

Holocaust survivor will speak at the on July 25th at 2 p.m. She has requested that young people attend her talk because she has a message of inspirational courage for them:

‘Remembering the Holocaust is not enough. Young people cannot wait for someone else to do the right thing when they see someone doing something wrong. Step in. Be a hero. It’s the little things on the bus, in the locker room, on the internet, that could lead to tragedies like the Holocaust.’

(From an article on the Westport, CT website O6880)

Mrs. Shorr will recount her experiences of surviving the concentration camps of Terezin and Auschwitz — where she appeared before the infamous Dr. Mengele — as well as Bergen-Belsen, where Anne Frank perished.

Her inspirational message will be given at the meeting and will be an opportunity for students 5th grade and up, as well as other interested individuals, to also meet veterans of WW II.

Please call the library at 203-468-3890 if you are interested in registering for this program.
