Trailblazer and Denali Hiker Series: Chatfield Trail

Come and learn about the 10 essential pieces of gear that you should bring on your outdoor adventure to make sure you have both a fun and safe time! Meeting at the Chatfield Hollow parking lot and starting our hike from there, our hike will actually be through the adjoining Cockaponset State Forest where we will enjoy great rock features and outcroppings. We will also stop part-way to have a snack and discuss the “10 Essentials” and their importance in outdoor adventuring.

When: Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 10:00 a.m.
Where: Chatfield Trail- Meeting at Chatfield Hollow SP Main entrance at front parking lots- Look for Denali/Trailblazer sign
Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
Miles: 3.7
Estimated Time: 3 hrs
Trail Description: If you are a rock lover, this excursion along ledge faces, under rock overhangs and over and through crevices is for you. Along the way, marvel at imposing ledge cliffs and outcrops, caves and perched glacial erratic.
Parking Fee:$9 Residents; $15 Non-resident. (Free parking available first come first serve in front lots)
