Regional Spring Fashion Show Featuring East Haven Students

30 East Haven students will be modeling fashions

One of the region’s largest Spring Fashion Shows will be held this weekend, featuring almost 70 models, from 1 – 2:30pm at the Westfield Connecticut Post shopping center Saturday (March 22). The event is free, and free parking is unlimited.

“The crocuses and spring flowers haven’t yet bloomed, but this weekend you can get out of the cold and come to see dozens of fresh spring prom fashions, and enjoy free makeup and hair style demonstrations,” said Danielle Consiglio, marketing manager of the Westfield Connecticut Post.

The free event will be held in center court on the first level in front of Macys and those in attendance can preview “this season’s hottest and most unique prom dresses, tuxedoes, makeup and hairstyles. Participants can also enjoy many discounts at participating stores in the shopping center,” said Consiglio.

“For this season’s prom-goers this is a great opportunity to see what’s available. Get a jump on the event, and avoid the ‘last-minute scrambling’ we see every season,” said Frank Fanelli, Macy’s visual manager.Sixty-six male and female models from New Haven and Fairfield counties ranging in age from 14-25 will be modeling dozens of fashions from Macy’s, Deb and Windsor. Thirty of the models are from East Haven High School, which partnered with Westfield Connecticut Post. Westfield Marketing Manager Consiglio, an East Haven HS graduate, worked with her former East Haven teacher, Tony Vaspasiano, who is giving students community service credit for volunteering their time to participate in the show.

“The students are very excited about the show. We’re hosting a fashion show at the school in April, so this is going to be great practice, “said Vaspasiano.

The models also include a Miss Teen New Haven contestant, who is participating in an upcoming pageant.

The event is hosted by Star 99.9's morning show host, Anna Zap and music will be provided by Star 99.9. Local artist Lansky Aloi (who recently opened for Flo Rida at Sacred Heart University’s Spring Weekend) will be doing a special performance. Sundae Spa is providing hairdo services and Marinello Beauty School is providing hair and makeup services.
