Just the Facts! The Affordable Care Act, CT's new insurance marketplace, and what it all means to you and our state: A free workshop presented by David Desiderato of the Universal Health Care Foundation of Connecticut

Connecticut residents are already seeing the benefits of the
Affordable Care Act:  insurance is fairer, more people have health
coverage, and tools to improve health quality and control costs are
becoming available.  On October 1 our new health insurance marketplace,
Access Health CT, opened for business, with coverage starting in January
-- over 62,000 residents signed up by late December.   Through the ACA,
the number of CT residents with health coverage is expected to increase
by over 100,000, through:

  • Subsidies to help families and individuals afford insurance – up to $94,000 in income for a family of 4
  • Expanded Medicaid coverage for childless adults
  • New insurance options and tax credits to help small employers cover their employees
  • New protections against insurance discrimination such as age and preexisting conditions

Join us for an interactive workshop to learn what these changes mean
for you, your family, your organization, and the people of Connecticut.
The session is user-friendly and engaging.  In addition to learning the
basics about the law, you’ll walk away with good resources for future
use and a clear view of what’s ahead.
