1916 Easter Uprising, Flag Raising: Greater New Haven St. Patrick's Day Parade

1916 Easter Uprising - Flag Raising

On

Sunday, April 27th at 9:00 am, the Greater New Haven St. Patrick's Day

Parade invites you to attend a Mass for Peace and a Flag Raising

ceremony to

commemorate the 98th anniversary of the 1916 Easter Uprising.

Following the Mass there will be a ceremony to honor the patriots of

1916 and the Hunger Strikers of 1981. This annual public ceremony serves

as a reminder to all ethnic groups that freedom and liberty carry a

high price. Local honorees are remembered in a roll call and the

original "Proclamation of Freedom" will be read.
