Winds Expected to Whip Up Again in East Haven

Changing weather patterns will usher in higher winds and much cooler air, with tonight's low in the mid-teens.

Today may have started as a sunny and mild mid-January morning, but Mother Nature has different plans for the rest of the day.

Plunging temperatures and high winds are expected to move into and much of the rest of the shoreline today, according to a special weather statement from the National Weather Service.

For the in the last few days, the sharp change in the area's weather pattern will bring with it strong winds, which are expected deliver gusts of up to 40 to 45 miles per hour.

"The wind gusts may bring down tree limbs and may blow around outdoor objects, such as garbage cans," the meteorologists caution in their report.

They added that driving may also be difficult in high-profile vehicles, like trucks and SUVs.

Tonight's low temperature is expected to be about 15 degrees tonight in East Haven, with tomorrow forecased to be sunny and less windy, with a high in the mid-30s.
