Take Tank Home

The "love bug" mutt has been in the East Haven Animal Shelter since January.

About five months ago, Tank was dropped off at the East Animal Shelter with a months-old broken leg that hadn't been attended to. It was onsidered a cruelty case, said Animal Control Officer Kristina Ruszczyk.

His corrective surgery, where his bone had to be rebroken, rang in at $5,000, according to Ruszczyk. The money was raised and Tank's leg seems just fine now. He runs with ease and speed.

Ruszczyk and local animal activist Lesley Simoni are hoping someone will adopt the little guy and give him the home he well deserves.

"He's a pint-sized little tank," said Ruszczyk. "He's loving. He's a clown. He'd like a nice couch to curl up on. And he's social and a good family dog."
