Power Restored to East Haven Homes

United Illuminating reports that as of 11:55 pm., no East Haven homes are reporting power outages.

United Illuminating is reporting that power has been restored to all their East Haven customers as of 11:55 p.m this evening

More than 2,440 West Haven customers are still without power, however, along with a few scattered outages in other area towns in the region.

More than 500 East Haven homes are without power after a strong line of storms, bringing with them heavy rain and strong wind, moved through the shoreline tonight.

According to United Illuminating, 517 customers in East Haven have reported that they are without power.

West Haven has been particularly hard hit following this evening's severe weather, with 2,447 UI customers reporting that they are now without power, as well.

East Haven Patch will continue to provide additional updates as more information becomes available.

In l it will officially be the first day of winter, but Mother Nature has one last warmer weather gasp up her weather sleeve.

The National Weather Service has just issued a special weather statement warning of a strong line of thunderstorms that are currently working their way through New York, Jersey and Connecticut.

The squal line is expected to impact much of the region, including New Haven County.

"Gusty winds of up to 50 miles per hour are expected with these storms," the weather service stated in its statement.

The meteorologists also warned of lightening.
