Severe Thunderstorm Warning for East Haven

The National Weather Service just issued the alert, which will remain in effect until 5:45 p.m.

The recent stormy weather for the shoreline continues as another line of storms moves through upstate New York and into Connecticut, bringing with it the threat of severe weather tonight.

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for East Haven — as well as most of New Haven and Fairfield counties — as a "dangerous storm" cell moves through the southern portion of the state late this afternoon.

The alert was sent out by the service at 4:39 p.m. And it will remain in effect until 5:45 p.m.

This storm reportedly brings with it frequent cloud to ground lightning, large hail and damaging winds.
