Police Commission Authorizes Hiring Four New Cops

The East Haven Police force is depleted by retirements and the indictment of four officers for civil rights violations.

Seriously depleted by retirements and in January on civil rights charges, interim Police Chief Brett Larrabee said the needs to begin recruiting new officers.

According to an article today in the New Haven Register, the Police Commission voted Tuesday to authorize the recruitment of four new officers to replace the retirees.

The four indicted officers are on paid administrative leave following their arrest by the FBI in January.
